Mass Mailing

Mass Mailing is prohibited on all Afriweb Limited Shared Hosting Servers

When using our shared hosting plans, mail is limited to a number of emails per hour, preferably 200 to 300 for any account to send emails distributed in that one hour. The use of bulk email to promote a site or send bulk emails for other reason is strictly forbidden and your email services will be halted.

The main reason is that when you send emails in bulk, within a shared hosting platform,  all it takes is a single recipient to logged a complaint against the sender (you), immediately the IP address of the shared server will be banned by anti-spam groups (spamhaus), Yahoo, MSN (hotmail) and internet service providers (ISP) which deploy spam filters on their network.  As a result other customers who are hosted on the same server will experience bounce emails (due to the IP address being listed as a spammer) and failed to send out their their emails.

As a cause of unneccessary disruption to other customers on the same server, we have opted that, it is fair as we provide you with cheap, reliable and secure hosting platform, to not allow bulk emails in shared hosting.

If you are in really need of Bulk sending of emails you can use a third-party service e.g  ICONTACT or upgrade your account to a Dedicated Hosting or VPS Hosting that will solely house your account and this threshold limitation will not be set.
